To ensure consistency across Retailers and Suppliers, Shopify must remain the single source of truth for all SKU and variant adjustments. Making edits to products directly within Stockshare or external systems can cause conflicts or product mapping issues.
In some cases, mapping issues can occur when a retailer publishes all product variants (including optional ones) and later removes a product option in Shopify.
When this happens, Shopify may automatically delete related variants - including valid ones - which can cause duplicate or missing variant errors in StockShare.
Correct process going forward
To prevent this issue, do not remove entire product options from Shopify once products have been published.
Instead:
Open the product in Shopify.
Go to each SKU.
Delete the specific variant you no longer want available, rather than removing the product option itself.

This approach keeps variant mappings consistent between Shopify and StockShare.
