Syncing Supplier RRP to Shopify as a Retailer

Created by StockShare Admin, Modified on Wed, 15 Oct at 11:39 AM by StockShare Admin

As the retailer, you can choose whether or not your supplier’s RRP changes automatically sync into your StockShare. To select which option, navigate to your "Settings" on the left panel in your dashboard and click on "Apps"

Then flick the toggle "Sync RRP from supplier" and any supplier RRP updates will automatically flow through.

If the button is unticked, the following scenario applies:

1. RRP will remain as per the RRP at time of publishing.

2. Commission will be calculated off the RRP set by the supplier.

3. If suppliers adjust the RRP on their Shopify store, it will not update on the retailer's store.

4. The update of suppliers RRP in Shopify will update the Stockshare Supplier RRP, however this will not update on the Retailer RRP if it remains unchecked as suppliers are generally connected to multiple retailers with different agreed structures.

5. If a supplier makes any changes in StockShare of the RRP, it will still not flow through to Retailer RRP.

You will receive this message when unchecking this box:

This message is in place in the circumstance the supplier increases or decreases the RRP of a product and to ensure retailers are aware of the impact. Please see example impacts below:

Example impact

  1. Supplier initial RRP is $100 and 20% commission
  2. Retailer receives $20 commission (20% of $100) on the order
  3. Retailer pays supplier $100 (RRP) - $20 (commission) = $80
  4. Retailer generates $20 net commission

Supplier reduces RRP to $80 and Retailer does not Sync

  1. Retailer sells product for $100
  2. Retailer receives $16 commission (20% of $80) on the order
  3. Retailer must pay supplier $80(RRP)-$16 (commission) = $64.
  4. Retailer generates $36 net commission
  5. This highlights when suppliers go on sale and retailers do not sync RRP, more commission is generated.

Supplier increases RRP to $120 and Retailer does not Sync

  1. Retailer sells product for $100
  2. Retailer receives $24 commission (20% of $120) on the order
  3. Retailer must pay supplier $120(RRP)-$24 (commission) = $96.
  4. Retailer generates $4 net commission
