How to process preorders in StockShare as a Supplier

General notes:

  • StockShare Preorder functionality provides for a dropship order where the supplier inventory is not currently in stock however available at a later date.
  • The Preorder pricing model works the same way as general dropship orders.
  • The Preorder retailer payment through Stockshare is processed immediately after the order is received (in contrast to general dropship orders, where payment is locked when the order is received and processed when the supplier ships the order), with the funds held in escrow in the StockShare account until the supplier ships the order. At which time funds will be released to the supplier.
  • There are no reminders and auto-cancellation processes for preorders, unlike standard orders. Noting at any time retailers and suppliers can engage on the pre-order product in the messaging section of the order.
  • If the system receives a dropship order with both preorder and general products, it will create two separate orders.

As a Supplier, you have to configure your preorder products by tagging them with a "preorder" tag in the Shopify:

*Note that if you already have a tag for “Pre-Order” products in your store (for example “pre-sale”), you are still required to add the “Pre-order” tag. This will not conflict with your existing Shopify tag in your store.

Once you have tagged your products in Shopify, publish your products in StockShare for retailers to see, as per the usual process. Find out how to publish your products in StockShare here.
